State report card

Tennessee grades every public school A to F. The department says School Letter Grades give “a snapshot of how each school in the state is performing, including student achievement and academic growth measures for all schools, as well as a measure of college and career readiness just for high schools.”

From the state’s 2024-25 letter grade file:

Measure ChattAcademy
Overall letter grade, 2024-25 D (score 2.3 of 5)
Achievement grade D
Academic growth grade D
Growth of the lowest-scoring 25% of students A
Overall success rate on state tests, 2024-25 17.6%

The state’s spring 2026 test file has the share of ChattAcademy students who met or exceeded expectations on each test. On the TCAP achievement tests for grades 3 to 8, science 25.6%, social studies 25.6%, English language arts 17.1% and math 11.4%; and on the high school end-of-course exams, Algebra I 66.7%. The 2025-26 letter grades have not been published yet.

The State Report Card page for ChattAcademy holds the full detail: results by subject and grade, chronic absenteeism and results for each group of students.

Admission and attendance zone

ChattAcademy has no attendance zone. Its enrollment page says any Hamilton County student in sixth through ninth grade for 2026-27 may apply, regardless of school zone; that the school expects a full sixth grade of about 80 seats and a few seats in seventh to ninth grade; and that it runs a fully blind lottery on Dec. 15, at the close of its priority application period, with priority only for siblings of current students and children of employees. After Jan. 1, remaining seats go first come, first served.

The page says the school offers neighborhood bus routes, though not door-to-door service, and free breakfast and lunch for every student. Hamilton County Schools’ charter schools page says charter seats are not open to families from outside the county unless there is no waitlist in that grade.
