Chattanooga’s Mexican restaurants cluster in three areas: downtown and the North Shore, on Broad, Market and Chestnut streets and around Cherokee Boulevard; Highway 58 on the east side; and Hamilton Place and Gunbarrel Road. Hixson has three.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Chattanooga’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 18, 2026, and every address was checked against the U.S. Census Bureau’s city-limits map. Taquerias and tiendas with no website of their own are left out until a second official source confirms them. The list is alphabetical. Agave & Rye on Chestnut Street serves tacos with a tequila and bourbon bar.

Amigo Mexican Restaurant is part of a local group with restaurants in Chattanooga, East Ridge and East Tennessee; this one is on Brainerd Road.

Bollywood Tacos on East Main Street mixes Indian spices with Mexican dishes and serves a weekend brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chipotle on Gunbarrel Road is the burrito chain’s Hamilton Place area store.

Dos Amigas on Highway 58 posts its menu on its site. It opens four days a week.

DosBros calls itself a fresh Mexican grill. Its Southside shop is on Broad Street.

El Jinete on Hixson Pike makes its food from scratch, with a vegetarian section, a kids menu, takeout and delivery.

El Meson at Hamilton Place serves Mexican food seven days a week.

El Metate on Hixson Pike serves fajitas, enchiladas and margaritas, with outdoor seating when the weather allows.

La Santa on River Street on the North Shore caters tacos, fajitas and margaritas and books private parties. It is closed Monday.

Los Mich on Highway 58 is open six days a week; its hours list no Tuesday.

Mariscos Vallarta near Shallowford Road serves seafood dishes such as aguachile, ceviche and seafood towers. It takes online reservations.

Mayan Kitchen on Broad Street downtown serves Mexican food and caters.

Mexiville has two restaurants, on Market Street downtown and on Cherokee Boulevard, with happy hour from 2 to 8 p.m.

Mezcla Cocina Y Cantina opened in 2020 at the corner of Market Street and Frazier Avenue on the North Shore. It books private parties.

Molcaxete on Perimeter Drive makes its salsas from scratch and runs happy hour daily.

Moe’s Southwest Grill on Highway 153 serves burritos, quesadillas and tacos, with kids, vegetarian and catering options.

Mr. Burrito Grill is a locally owned Mexican grill on East M.L. King Boulevard.

Taco Mamacita on North Market Street offers takeout, delivery, catering and a family-style menu.

Taqueria Jalisco has a dine-in taqueria on Rossville Avenue and a weekday breakfast and lunch counter at The Plaza on Market Street.

Most are. Among those that close Sunday are DosBros Southside, Dos Amigas on Highway 58, Mexiville downtown and both Taqueria Jalisco counters.
