Fire stations: the Chattanooga Fire Department has opened its fire stations inside city limits to trick-or-treaters from 6 to 8 p.m. on Halloween night in past years, with candy while it lasts. The city had not confirmed a 2026 open house by Oct. 17.

Block parties and road closures

Neighborhood Halloween block parties can close streets to through traffic. Last year the city listed closures on Graham Street, South Crest Road and at The Enclave at Riverview, open to residents only. The city posts each year’s list in its weekly road closure releases.

Safety tips from the Chattanooga Fire Department

  • An adult should go with children under 12 and help them cross streets, at corners and crosswalks only.
  • Carry flashlights and put reflective tape on costumes and bags.
  • Look for “flame-resistant” labels on costumes, masks, beards and wigs, and keep candles and jack-o’-lanterns away from children and loose costumes.
  • Use face paint instead of a mask that blocks vision, and make sure costumes are short enough not to trip on.
  • Stay on the sidewalk, not across yards.
  • If you find candy that has been tampered with, tell the police right away.

What this means for you
